Privacy Notice

This notice describes information handled when someone visits Blount County Released Inmates, uses a partner search tool, or sends a message. It also explains cookies, outside links, security limits, and available privacy choices.

Information You Submit

A name, location, or other term entered in a search box is transmitted to the independent provider that operates the tool. This site does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider's policy governs its receipt and use of that query.

If you send an email or contact message, we keep the information needed to read and answer it. Messages are not shared outside the organization unless a valid legal duty requires disclosure.

Routine Technical Information

Like most websites, this site may receive basic technical and usage data when a page loads:

  • Internet Protocol address
  • Browser name and version
  • Device type and operating system
  • Pages viewed and time spent
  • Referring page or site, when supplied
  • Date and time information

Cookies help measure how visitors use the pages and support site functions. Browser controls can reject or remove cookies, though some features may then work differently.

How Information Is Used

Collected information may be used to operate and secure the site, keep pages responsive, send a search request to the selected provider, understand which material is useful, diagnose faults, and display advertising that may reflect visitor interests. It is not used to create an official Blount County custody record.

Outside Websites and Advertising

Links lead to Blount County release records, sheriff and corrections pages, courts, government locators, and independent search services. After a visitor follows a link, the destination's own privacy notice applies. This site does not control that organization's systems.

Advertising and analytics partners may use their systems to recognize activity across websites and tailor ads. Their tracking takes place under their own technology and policies.

Parties That May Receive Data

We do not sell personal data. Limited information may be handled by search providers that process submitted queries, analytics vendors that measure visits, advertising networks that deliver ads, and service providers needed to run the site. Law enforcement or another government body may receive information when disclosure is required by a valid legal order.

Security Has Limits

Reasonable technical and organizational practices are used to protect information. No internet service, network, storage system, or transmission can be promised as breach-proof. Visitors should avoid sending details that are not needed for the question.

Visitors Under Eighteen

This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted data may use the Get in Touch page to request review and deletion.

Your Privacy Choices

Subject to applicable law and verification, a person may ask for a copy of personal data held by this site, request correction, seek deletion, or object to certain processing. Browser settings provide separate cookie controls. A request cannot force this private site to alter a record held by BCSO, TDOC, a court, or another outside agency.

Changes to This Notice

This privacy notice may be revised as services or legal duties change. An updated version takes effect when posted here with its new effective date.
